Nick Cave and The Band Seeds are to release their first material since the tragic death of Nick’s 15-year-old son Arthur last July.
The new album, entitled Skeleton Tree, will be released on 9 September, preceded by an accompanying film One More Time With Feeling directed by Andrew Dominik.
It’s understood the film, narrated by Cave, will “delve into the tragic backdrop of the writing and recording of the album”.
Described as ‘stark, fragile and raw’ it features interviews and live performance and will be shown in cinemas nationwide for one night only on 8 September.
Tickets for performances are available here.
Skeleton Tree will be the band’s 16th album and their first since the chart-topping Push The Sky Away from 2013.
Like the film it’s said to be a ‘true testament true testament to an artist trying to find his way through the darkness’.
Copies of the album are available for pre-order through Cave’s own website,
