In no particular order some of my favourite music moments. No25 Lazy Sunday by Small Faces.
An innovative, stylish and versatile band Small Faces, never seem to get quite the attention they deserve.
Lazy Sunday is a knockabout knees-up taken from their ambitious, psychedelic concept album Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake – a record so peculiarly English that it stayed at No1 in the UK charts for six weeks, but failed to break the top 150 Stateside.
Like the rest of the album, Lazy Sunday shows the band’s ability to blend expansive production with down to earth lyrics and humour.
Small Faces’ key creative forces Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane are sadly no longer with us, but their songwriting lives on.
