I was always going to feature this track. However, I decided to run it today (Tues, 29 Dec 2015) following the sad news of the death of Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilminster, 70, from cancer and the recent passing of former drummer Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor (61).
Very few songs – particularly heavy metal anthems – transcend genre to be loved and enjoyed by everybody, regardless of their musical taste.
Sounding just as instant, vibrant and thrilling as on its original release in 1980, Ace of Spades is just such a track.
