In no particular order some of my favourite music moments. No 16 It’s My Life by Talk Talk.
One of most mercurial and interesting bands of the ’80s Talk Talk went from besuited Duran-style synth-poppers to ethereal pioneers of what came to be known, somewhat uselessly as Post-Rock.
Perhaps their best known song, 1985’s It’s My Life captures the band midway through that transition, when they still had half an eye on the charts.
Since the band’s split, chief creative influence Mark Hollis made a solo album in 1998 and then went pretty much AWOL from the music business, saying he wanted to spend time bringing up his kids.
He died in February 2019 at the age of 64.
